Annual inflation slowed down in March in most regions of Kazakhstan
In March, the country’s annual inflation slowed down and made 9.1% (9.3% in February). In the meantime, annual inflation slowed down in 14 regions, acceleration was observed in 5 regions, while in 1 region it remained unchanged.
The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Karagandy and Mangystau regions.
Growth pace of food products in March slowed down to 6.9% YoY (7.4% in February). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in Ulytau region (10.5%), while the lowest was in Almaty region (4.3%).
Growth rate of prices for non-food products decelerated to 8.2% YoY (8.5% in February). The maximum value was recorded in Mangystau region (13.2%), while the minimum was in Zhetysu region (6.5%).
Prices for paid services in March accelerated to 13.2% YoY (12.8 % in February). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Pavlodar region (at 18.2%) and significantly lower in Ulytau region (8.6%).
In March, growth of monthly inflation in the country amounted to 0.7%, which is higher than the historical average (0.6% in March 2017-2021).
