On inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan in October 2023

The National Bank of Kazakhstan published data on inflation trends in the regions of Kazakhstan.

In October 2023, the country’s annual inflation slowed down and made 10.8% (11.8% in September). In terms of regions, annual inflation decelerated in all 20 regions.

At the same time, monthly inflation in the country during the reporting period amounted to 0.7%.

The highest values of annual inflation were recorded in Akmola, North-Kazakhstan and Zhetysu regions.

Growth pace of food products in October slowed down to 10.4% YoY (11.4% in September). The highest increase in prices for goods in this group was observed in Ulytau region (14.2%), while the lowest was in Shymkent city (7.6%).

Growth rate of prices for non-food products decelerated to 11.1% YoY (12.1 % in September). The maximum value was recorded in Almaty city (12.9%), while the minimum was in Ulytau region (8.1%).

Prices for paid services in October slowed down to 11.0% YoY (11.9 % in September). At the same time, prices rose significantly higher than the national level in Turkistan region (at 15.6 %) and significantly lower in Astana city (7.8%).
