For 8 months of 2021, people in Kazakhstan carried out 4 billion transactions worth 56.3 trillion KZT using payment cards, which exceeds the same indicators in 2020 by 2.2 and 2 times respectively.

9 out of 10 transactions with payment cards were carried out by cashless method. In January-August 2021, 3.8 billion cashless transactions totaling 43.2 trillion KZT were carried out using payment cards of Kazakhstan’s issuers, which exceeds the same indicators in 2020 by 2.4 and 2.3 times, respectively.

Increase in the share of online transactions in the total structure of volume of non-cash transactions was reported. In January - August 2021, 67% of all non-cash transactions were carried out on the Internet or through mobile applications (2.5 billion transactions). Share of online transactions in volume of non-cash transactions of households rose to 83% and amounted to 35.9 trillion KZT.
