On the whole 51,1 mln. transactions to the amount of 645,5 trln. KZT were conducted through payment systems of Kazakhstan (Interbank System of Money Transfer and Interbank Clearing System) in 2020. As compared to 2019 number of payments in payment systems decreased by 22,8% (by 9468,8 thousand transactions), amount of payments decreased by 15,3% (by 116,6 trln. KZT).

Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT)

In 2020 15,0 mln. transactions to the amount of 638,1 trln. KZT were conducted through ISMT. As compared to last year number of payments increased by 3,4% (by 492,0 thousand transactions) and amount of payments decreased by 15,5% (by 116,9 trln. KZT).

On an average 61,0 thousand transactions to the amount of 2,6 trln. KZT passed through ISMT per day in 2020 which is more than the level of 2019 in respect of number by 3,1% (by 1,8 thousand transactions) and  less in respect of amount by 15,8% (by 0,5 trln. KZT).

Interbank Clearing System.

Flows of retail payments during 2020 made up 36,1 mln. documents to the amount of 7,4 trln. KZT. As compared to 2019 volume of documents in clearing system increased by 33,1% (by 8976,8 thousand documents), value of payments increased by 4,4% (by 315,8 bln. KZT).

On an average 146,6 thousand documents to the amount of 30,2 bln. KZT passed through clearing system per day, which is more than the level of the similar period of 2019 in respect of number of payments by 33,1% (by 36,5 thousand transactions) and more in respect of amount of payments by 4,4% (by 1,3 bln. KZT).
