The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan informs about the participation of the UAPF assets in the initial public offering (IPO) of ordinary shares of Air Astana JSC. On February 14, 2024, the UAPF acquired ordinary shares of Air Astana JSC in the amount of KZT 24.9 billion, at a price of KZT 1,073.83 per share. The total number of acquired common shares of Air Astana JSC amounted to 23,168,975 shares, representing 6.5% of the company’s total issued shares.

The acquisition of common shares of high-quality Kazakhstani issuers is aimed at diversifying the investment portfolio of UAPF pension assets and will contribute to increasing its profitability in the long term.

The decision to invest pension assets of the UAPF in common shares of Air Astana JSC was based on the stable financial performance, as well as high profitability of the company’s operations, which allows it to pay stable dividends in the future. These investments actually allow UAPF contributors to become shareholders of one of the leaders in the aviation market in Central Asia.
