The front side depicts:
- The Glory Memorial located in the park named after 28 Panfilov Guardsmen – a tribute to the heroes who gave their lives for their homeland.
- Micro-optical security strip. When changing the viewing angle of the banknote a three-dimensional effect of depth, volume and radiance becomes visible on the strip, as well as the effect of the movement of the eternal flame and flying cranes. Silhouettes of the cranes personify goodness and hope, symbolize life.
The back side depicts:
- a map of Kazakhstan with fragments of historical archival photographs.
- The Order of the Patriotic War as a symbol of courage, fortitude and bravery.

The central images of the front side are:
– branch of the “Tree of Life” with a soaring bird (Issyk Mound, 5-4 centuries BC, detail of the headdress of the Golden Man, the sacred meaning of the connection between nature and belief);
– DNA spiral and infinity symbol stylized as an ornament, denoting the connection between man and nature;
– an artifact – a spring-loaded element in the form of a curled-up predator as a symbol of fortitude and endurance (Besoba Kurgan, 6th-4th centuries BC, Ural region, Western Kazakhstan).
Back side
The main images on the back side are:
- dogs of the Tobet and Tazy breeds against the background of a stylized shield ornament;
- a circular Kazakh ornament representing a “shield” - a symbol of protection of values, an ancient symbol - the four cardinal directions, a solar sign in the center as a symbol of creative energy and life.
Also on the back side of the banknote is an artifact - a spring-loaded plaque in the form of a curled up predator as a symbol of unity with nature and harmony (Kurgan Kyryk-oba, 7-6 centuries BC, Western Kazakhstan). In the center of the banknote as a background is an image of the steppe hills of Kazakhstan, inscribed in a stylized ornament symbol of infinity.

Attention: in accordance with Regulations of the Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 285 dated November 25, 2016 «On introducing amendments to the resolution of the Board of National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 250 dated December 24, 2014 «About establishment of the period of the parallel address of banknotes of 1000 tenge of sample 2006 and sample of 2014 banknotes of 1000 tenge are ceased to be legal since March 1, 2017.
Starting from June 12th, 2021, banknotes issued since year 2006 can be exchanged for an unrestricted period of time. Banknotes issued in the year 2006 that have been withdrawn from circulation can be exchanged for an unrestricted period of time in the territorial branches of the NBK.

Additional security elements (demetalized thread with «1000» number, gold intaglio, «1000» number in guilloche rosette that appears depending on the banknote’s angle of view) are applied.
Back side: main colors – green and red. The main image is the fragment of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
Attention: in accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 68 dated July 25, 2006 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 1000 tenge of 2000 are ceased to be legal since November 15, 2007. Acceptance of these banknotes completed on November 14, 2018.
