On December 2, 2022, the National Bank of Kazakhstan (the NBK) issues into circulation FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 collectible coins from the Sports Series.

These coins are issued within a trilateral agreement between the NBK and Kazakhstan Mint with German Numismatic Company MDM.

Information about the starting date of the coins’ sale will be additionally released on the official website of the NBK.

About FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 collectible coins

Design of FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 coins is approved by FIFA. Official slogan of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar – EXPECT AMAZING – is styled as an inscription on an electronic scoreboard of a stadium. A brand new technology of gilding the middle level of the relief has been applied for the coin. This was used for the first time in coin production and allows to highlight the volume of the ball. Its gilded parts are located below the level of the football goal net.

FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 collectible coins are made of 925/1000 grade silver. They weigh 20 grams, have 37 mm in diameter. The coins have a face value of 100 KZT. Their total mintage is 4,000 (four thousand) pieces. 3,650 coins are issued for the domestic market and 350 coins for the foreign market.

Collectible coins must be accepted at their face value throughout the Republic of Kazakhstan for all types of payments as well as for crediting to bank accounts and for transfers. They must be changed and exchanged in all the banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Collectible coins were produced at the Kazakhstan Mint.
