Banknote with face value of 1000 of 2014

Date of issue: 01 December 2014

Size: 134 mm х 70 mm.

Predominant colour is yellow and brown.

Obverse: the images are vertical. The main images are the «Kazak Eli» monument on the right side of the banknote and images of flying doves at the right lower top. In the top the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan are represented: State Emblem and National Flag. At the left a digital designation of face value and an inscription in the state language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.  At the left horizontally an alphabetic reference of face value in a state language and an inscription «ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ».

Reverse: the images are horizontal. Main images: a plateau Ustyurt on Western Kazakhstan, the contour of map of Kazakhstan on a background. At the left lower and on the right upper tops a digital designation of the face value of a banknote, in the middle – an alphabetic reference in Russian. From above in the middle the inscription "ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" is printed. The inscription that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law is located under the digital designation of the face value located at the left below.

Commemorative banknote with face value of 1000 tenge devoted to «Kultegin" monument of Turkic writing

Size: 134 mm х 70 mm.

Predominant colour is yellow and brown.

Obverse: the images are vertical. The main images are the «Kazak Eli» monument on the right side of the banknote and images of flying doves at the right lower top. In the middle of the left side a fragment of sculpture of «Kultegin» is depicted. In the top the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan are represented: State Emblem and National Flag. At the left a digital designation of face value and an inscription in the state language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.  At the left horizontally an alphabetic reference of face value in a state language and an inscription «ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ».

Reverse: the images are horizontal. Main images: rock drawings of Turkic soldiers, monument of Turkic writing on a background. At the left lower and on the right upper tops a digital designation of the face value of a banknote, in the middle – an alphabetic reference in Russian. At the left the holographic strip 12 mm wide with the image of a fragment of National Flag, a logo of National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and an inscription «Ескерткіш теңге» is located. From above in the middle the inscription "ҚАЗАҚСТАН ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ" is printed. The inscription that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law is located under the digital designation of the face value located at the left below.

Commemorative banknote 1000 tenge devoted to the Republic of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Organisation of the Islamic Conference

Date of issue: 25 May 2011

Circulation: 10 000 000 banknotes

Size: 134mm х 70 mm.

Predominant colour is Light-green.

Obverse: The images are vertical. The main image in the middle of the banknote: the dome of the mausoleum of Hodja Akhmed Yassavi. On the right is the official logo of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference. The face value is placed in the lower part of the banknote. The upper part shows the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan: National Emblem and National Flag. The name of the issuing bank, in Kazakh, is placed vertically in the top left, above the name there is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse:  The images are horizontal. The main image is the mausoleum of Hodja Akhmed Yassavi. . The face value is placed in the bottom left, in the middle and the right part. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language is in the middle of the upper half of the note. At the bottom in the middle of the banknotes, there is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Banknote 1000 tenge, issued in 2010 and dedicated to presidency of Kazakhstan in Organization on Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2010

Obverse: State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan in left upper corner, decorative image of flying birds in national style, face value in Kazakh language in the center, motives of Kazakh national patterns along the banknote, holographic image of Baiterek monument , colour-changing logo of National Bank of Kazakhstan on the right part

Reverse: State Flag of the Republic in the left lower corner, Akorda palace of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the center with face value in Russian language, image of a bird and year of issue 2010, numerical indication of face value in the left lower part, motives of Kazakh national patterns along the banknote.

Banknote with face value of 1000 of 2006

Size: 134mm х 70 mm. Predominant colour is yellow-brown. 

Obverse: The images are vertical. In the center is the Astan-Baiterek monument. In the middle of the banknote a fragment of music of the Kazakhstan National Anthem is printed in white on light brown and dark brown stripes. Over the music is the white outline of the value numeral. To the left of the monument the Kazakhstan National Emblem is printed in brown. The Kazakhstan National Flag is on the top right of the note.  On the lower half of the note is an open hand. The face value, in Kazakh script, is shown vertically in the lower left corner. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, is placed vertically in the lower right corner, above the name is an inscription in the Kazakh language stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Reverse: The images are horizontal. The main image is an outline map of Kazakhstan.  In the foreground is the President Culture Center, and in the background are mountains.  The value numeral is shown both on the lower left corner and upper right corner. The face value, in Russian script, is shown in the middle on the lower half of the note. The name of the issuing bank, in the Kazakh language, and the bank’s logo are in the middle of the upper half of the note.  In the top left corner, on the white area, is an inscription in Russian stating that counterfeiting banknotes is against the law.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of the Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 285 dated November 25, 2016 «On introducing amendments to the resolution of the Board of National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 250 dated December 24, 2014  «About establishment of the period of the parallel address of banknotes of 1000 tenge of sample 2006 and sample of 2014 banknotes of 1000 tenge are ceased to be legal since March 1, 2017 and till February 28, 2018 (inclusively) they are a subject to be exchanged at all banks of the second level and in Kazakhstan Post. These banknotes are accepted by all branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan February 28, 2021 (inclusively) and after confirmation of its authenticity by expertise are exchanged for banknotes and coins in force. Second level (commercial) banks and Kazakhstan Post accepts these notes for further passing of expertise to the branches of the National Bank. Since March 1, 2018 both second level banks and Kazakhstan Post admits these banknotes only for their further transfer to the branches of National Bank.

Banknote with face value of 1000 of 2000

Size:  144mm x 69 mm. Predominated colours are green and blue.

Obverse:  The main image is a portrait of the great philosopher, thinker and scientist Al-Farabi (870-950). On the left is the inscription "National Bank of Kazakhstan". To the left of the portrait is a watermark profile of Al-Farabi and the value numeral “1000”. On the bottom, to the right of the portrait, is a hidden numeral "1000" which can be seen when viewed horizontally at eye level. To the right of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed vertically in red ink.  Top left of the portrait the asymmetric serial number is printed horizontally in black ink.

Above the horizontal serial number is the text "Банкноттарды қолдан жасау заңмен қүдаланады". To the left of the portrait is the denomination in both numbers and text. Below this is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan together with the year of issue of the banknote.

Reverse:  The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. To the right of the mausoleum is the denomination in both numbers and text.  Top right if the note is the text: "Подделка банкноты преследуется по закону" ("Counterfeiting banknotes is against the law").

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 68 dated July 25, 2006 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 1000 tenge of 2000 are ceased to be legal since November 15, 2007. These banknotes are accepted by all branches of the National Bank of Kazakhstan till 14 November 2018 (inclusively) and after confirmation of its authenticity by expertise are exchanged for banknotes and coins in force. Second level (commercial) banks and Kazakhstan Post accepts the notes for further passing of expertise to the branches of the National Bank.

Banknote with face value of 1000 of 1994.

Size: 144 mm x 69 mm.

Obverse:  In the centre of the note, in red, is the denomination in both numbers and text.  Under the value numeral is the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the date of issue. On the right of the note is the portrait of the great philosopher and thinker of the East, Al-Farabi, and beneath the portrait his name and dates of his birth and death. To the right of the portrait is a grave ornament. In the middle left side of the banknote is a watermark of the portrait of Al-Farabi, framed by a continuous tracery of Kazakh ornamentation.  To the right of the watermark is the state emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The serial numbers are printed vertically in red ink along right edge of the note, and horizontally in black ink above the state emblem. That serial numbers consist of a two-letter prefix and seven figures.

Reverse:  The main image is part of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi's mausoleum. On the bottom right, under the watermark, the value numeral is printed in two colours.

Attention:

In accordance with Regulations of Governing Body of the National Bank of Kazakhstan No. 377 dated September 29, 2001 "On Replacement of Banknotes of National Currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan banknotes" banknotes with a face value of 500 tenge of 1994 are ceased to be legal since November 1, 2002.
